Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at a Simply Retreat?

I have found that each person comes with their own set of expectations. That’s why we start by identifying these and laying aside any burdens or distractions that we bring with us. Then with the retreat guide and journal provided (and your Bible), we will spread out in the home (or church) in which we meet for individual times with God. At some point in the day, we will come back together for a facilitated time(s) of discussion. Often this takes place over a meal shared together. Unlike a retreat where a large group gathers to hear a teacher, Simply Retreat offers you a personal time to hear God speak to you. Optional artistic or visual expressions can be available for those who choose it. Or you may want to get outside for a walk to talk with God.

How can I book a retreat?

Contact Janet Graves at SimplyRetreat4women@gmail.com to discuss dates and possible topics for your retreat.

Can children come for a Simply Retreat?

To facilitate the best environment for solitude for everyone, we discourage bringing children to Simply Retreats.

What if I have to cancel my booking for a retreat?

If you (or I) need to cancel a booking, we will work together to find a future date.

What does the hostess/church provide for the retreat?

I recommend keeping it as simple as possible. You can make beverages available all day for your participants, like coffee, tea and bottled water. For lunch, I can help you with ideas that I have offered at past retreats in my home for you to prepare. Or better yet, as the hostess you can simply enjoy the retreat and offer a catered (delivered) lunch instead. Be sure to add the cost of meal/beverages in what you charge your participants for the retreat. As a hostess, you will be able to invite your own small group of friends to a retreat in your home. Or the church can advertise and make Simply Retreat available using the church building. I have years of experience with both scenarios that I am willing to share with you (and your planning team).

When I book a retreat what happens next?

We will discuss and agree on the topic for your retreat guide, a date, and planning suggestions. You will invite the retreat participants and give me the final number a week before the retreat.

How do I pay?

You can pay via Venmo or Zelle to Janet
